Seeking Volunteers – How To Heal Yourself When You Are Grieving Course

The Grief Reiki® Academy is excited to announce the upcoming release of our online course, How To Heal Yourself While Grieving. We are currently looking for volunteers to take Part One – The Basics of this course and provide us with feedback.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Have you wondered how to move forward after a loss when your mind, body and soul feel broken? Emotionally, you may feel like your mind is in a fog. Physically, you may feel completely disassociated from your body or like your heart is broken and battered. Spiritually you may be questioning everything you thought you knew about life. In this course, students learn to use various techniques, including Reiki, to heal themselves specifically while they are grieving.

The course is broken into four parts. As a volunteer, you would beta test Part One – The Basics which discusses the basic concepts associated with both grief and Reiki.

Volunteers will be able to access the following:

Part One – The Basics

Overview

Module 1 – Grief and Loss (3 Lessons, Handouts and 2 Activities)

Module 2 – Reiki (3 Lessons, Handouts and 2 Activities)

Module 3 – Reiki and Grief (3 Lessons, Handouts and 2 Activities)

Summary/Quiz

Knowing how hard it is to concentrate while you are grieving, the lessons are short and the corresponding activities are simple to do. You don’t have to know anything about grief and loss, Reiki, energy medicine, meditation, or any other areas to take this course. Each topic is covered in terms that are easy-to-understand.

Promises for 2018

While taking a seminar about integrity this year, it was mentioned the things that aren’t working in our lives happen when we have broken a promise somewhere along the way. I guess I had never really thought about it that way. Once I shifted my perspective, I realized that there were quite a few promises I had broken in 2017. Finding ways to heal those promises propels those areas into “working” again.  It’s quite amazing actually.

So for 2018, I plan to make promises in the following areas (and keep them).

GRIEF

This year I promise to:

-Grieve at my own pace

-Respect my sadness

-Practice self-care

-Share my memories

-Talk about my loved ones

Physical Benefits of Reiki When Grieving

Grief affects us physically in many different ways. These effects range from a mild headache to more serious illnesses. When you don’t feel well physically, it is harder to face your grief. As a result, all you want to do is crawl under the covers and come out when it is all over. Reiki provides you with physical benefits during grieving. This happens because Reiki has the ability to unblock and balance your physical energy centers. After receiving Reiki, energy begins to flow through your body again to help keep you healthy. If you feel well, you’re better able to handle the emotional and spiritual aspects related to grief. Following are the physical benefits of Reiki when you are grieving.

PHYSICAL BENEFITS 

Following are the physical benefits of Reiki when you are grieving:

Strengthens Self Care – Perhaps the most important aspect of getting through grief is to take care of yourself. This isn’t always easy. In fact, it may be one of the last things you think about doing. Practicing daily self-Reiki can greatly contribute to your physical well-being and strengthen your overall self- care routine.

Balances and Increases Energy – Grief depletes your energy. This can lead you to feeling tired and worn out. Eventually, you may even get sick. Reiki helps to replenish your energy so you can get through the day without feeling out of sorts. Balancing and increasing your energy makes it easier for your body to fight off illness.

Relieves Fatigue – You may feel like you are in a constant state of fatigue when you are grieving. This could be due to an energy blockage in your seventh chakra. Long-term blockages can lead to adrenal fatigue. Reiki can help to balance your seventh chakra, therefore restoring your energy levels and minimizing your feelings of fatigue.

Promotes Sleep – If you want to get a good night’s sleep when grieving, Reiki can help. Taking just a few minutes before bedtime to practice self-Reiki, focusing on your third chakra, can provide you with a sense of calm and help you to drift off to sleep.

Clears Toxins – Your body is constantly burning energy in order to rebuild tissue and replace older cells. As a result, your body creates a fair amount of waste, or internal toxins, which your body must break down and eliminate. Grief can contribute to these toxins lodging in your cells, soft tissues, and muscles, overwhelming your entire immune system. The impact of not eliminating these toxins can leave you more susceptible to illness. Reiki helps your body to clear these toxins, keeping you physically healthy.

Improves Circulation – Grief often makes your heart feel like it is broken. In some cases, the stress associate with grief can even elevate your blood pressure. Focusing Reiki on your fourth chakra can help to improve your circulation and reduce your blood pressure. This minimizes the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Relieves Pain – Grief can make you feel like you hurt all over. This is the result of energy blockages stimulating the pain receptors in your muscles, leading to spasms, knots, aches and pains. Reiki releases these blockages and helps to relieve this pain.

Reduces Tension – Sometimes you may feel like a ticking time bomb when you are grieving. Every muscle in your body can feel like its pulled tighter than a snare drum. As a result, your shoulders tense up, your jaw clenches, and your head begins to ache. As your physical tenseness grows, it can cause worry and anxiety. Reiki works on your fourth, fifth and sixth chakras to relax these muscles and begin to reduce your tension. When you feel more relaxed, you are better able to deal with your grief.
